Reviewing Docs

It seems that everyone from MS to Adobe to Google is working to get some way to get people to review documents using their systems. Some of them work better than others, but I got an email this morning that turned my attention to a smaller player. ReviewBasics is in best web2.0 fashion in beta right now and it offers a nice little suite of review tools, that while basic are usable. But the killer app that they have, the ability to comment on FLV files. I haven’t tried it on one of my own yet, but it’s something that I have been looking for and now that I’ve found it, I think I’ll certainly have to give it a try.

No problem, I just played with the demo and the video markup is really very slick. It would be nice if there was some manner of prompt (that could be tuned on and off) on the main screen to let you know that there was a comment on a given frame. The carrots on the time line and the “content pages” on the left hand side very well, but new users might get frustrated if they don’t notice those interface elements.

A very nice little tool to be sure.
