EA has released iMixes of it’s game music onto iTunes (which, if you believe some reports today has seen an doubling in use over the last year). Some of it is the generic top 40 stuff, but others is the original stuff that is commissioned for the games. This is good for so many people because it’s another sign (in addition to amazing concerts like Video Games Live) that gaming is being recognized as a legit art form. There are so many people who think that games are only about programming, this is not the case, it is as much the music as the coding. If we are looking at ways to get kids back into the fine arts – video games… it’s not a panacea… but it certainly isn’t child’s play.
