Picture of the Week – Modren Totem

Modren Totem

This week’s picture is not about anything special, but at the same time, it is about the most important part about photography. When walking up and down Government Street, I must have passed it over a dozen times in the few days that we were there. I was not alone however, but on the last day, I finally noticed this sculpture wrapped around a street light. And like the classic “point to nothing” social experiment, once I started taking pictures, others started to notice it (which is not to say that it hasn’t been noticed before or after or that I’m in any way integral to the experience). So the “most important thing” that this picture is about this week is that of just noticing things in the environment.

It turns out this is the “Poet Laureate Legacy Tree” by Glenn Closson.
