All those ideas that I had been playing with using the flowers as a subject got turned on my daughter. I wanted to do a high contrast shot with a narrow depth of field and I think I got it pretty good here. I was trying to get right down the middle of the eye (trust me this is tricky when baby is batting about all the time) with the DOF and use the available light to paint the outer contour of the face, while leaving the inner areas dark.
