I decided to start with this image of the set of five that I took a while back as I’m feeling that I’m finally getting through the forest that was start of term (with only 3 weeks left of the term to boot). But as I clear through one forest, I am getting into another – deciding my lens strategy for Paris. I’m thinking that the 17-55 is going to be my default lens for the trip and my night lens, my 70-200 will be used for parades and then to “fill in” when 55mm isn’t enough reach – for catching the decorations on castles or small items in rooms. I’m going to take my monopod with my Manfroto 222 pistol grip ball head so that in the chilly night air, I can get good shots (with the help of IS as well) of the night parades) using the long end of the 70-200.
