I just noticed this today, you can now add images from your Picasa web album into your Gmail compositions. This way Gmail is almost as well integrated as iPhoto/Mail (I know it’s not just as smooth). Now with the iPhoto/Picasa plugin.
Google has also released their Custom Search. Previous to this, you had to go through a longer process to get a custom search setup. This addresses one of the things that came up in The Search, where general search engines like Google get their buts handed to them by smaller field specific engines. With this tool now, I think that Google will be able to make up that shortcoming as it will “see” all these searches and assimilate that into the Great Google Ether as well.
