Macworld has reviews for both Apple and Adobe‘s photo processing programs online today. The differences that they spot are in the way you want to work with your files – free form in Aperture vs modules with Lightroom. One difference between the two that some of the other reviews (in combination with these) is the manner in which they decode raw. Adobe’s got a more powerful system compared to Apple, but if you are shooting common cameras, that should not be an issue. When they talk about large RAW files, I think it will depend on the file type and size – my 30D RAWs at about 7MB a shot are decently quick, larger files may be slower. I know that the Sony RAWs at about the same size were much slower than the Canon files. If you are interested in either of these, grab the demos (Aperture, Lightroom).
