High School Interface Design Contest

For all those budding Xerox Researchers out there, TAMU is having a contest. I found out about it through one a friend of mine who is involved.

Wanted: High school teams who think outside the box and can design innovative and elegant solutions to non-conventional problems. A wide range of interests from art, education, psychology, management, communication is a plus.

I certainly applaud the the interdisciplinary approach that is encouraged here. I have done interface design in the past and I know that it’s everything listed above and more – and in the end it points to just how blurry the lines between many of the nascent and not so nascent fields are in the end.

Even if you are not in the Texas area, the resources that they have listed look quite solid and worth checking out.
