Gold farmers

Wired has covered this in the past, but now Search Engine has a great little documentary on gold farming. This is really the dark underbelly of MMORPGs and the networked world. It sounds like the drug trade in many ways with how it works and how transactions are processed. If William Gibson or the like thought that their distopic worlds would never happen, it seems like this might very well be the start.
