I don’t know about this one – education.com – Great idea, an education portal – But who’s content and curriculum will dominate?

Certainly not seeing a lot there for someone like me in a non-US context, and outside the K-12 age group. It kind of limits education to school education and to the concerns of the US with ‘Standards’ and so on (and with US social issues that are different from those in other countries). Looks as though it does what it’s intended to do well, but to me if you’re going to get the ‘education’ domain it seems a shame to carve off what is actually a pretty narrow slice of education to use in it.

I agree totally – it is very US focused and even then, I don’t know what the utility will be across the US anyway as to me the site feels like it’s more a magazine with “beta” tagged onto it’s website, some “web2.0-y” graphics added together with some forums. Overall, it feels like it’s more parenting than anything really to do with education in the way that we are looking at it.
