Cheap Video Production

I’ve mentioned this before, but there are more and more companies out there offering what amount to disposable video cameras. The most recent of these, Pure Digital (noted in my previous post as well), offers a camera that will record to flash memory. And at around $200 it could be a very cheap way for students in K-12 and higher to get into video production. This way, even without cell phones (most recently phoo-phooed by a story on NBC for poor image quality and difficult editing – but that seems not to have stopped the various mobile film fests out there) everyone can get the experience of telling a moving story, a literacy that is certainly one that will become more important in the future.
