Well it seems that Telus is getting into some hot water over it’s decision to carry porn. While I am not going to get into the debate over the morality of the topic, I do think it is interesting that this case is being brought up on the basis that the individual doesn’t want to subsidize a service that they don’t believe in.
I’m wondering if this person has a cable service – there is loads of questionable morality there (of all sorts), or the Internet…
Maybe it’s because the phone has become so personal, that the thought that something that you object to is so close may be too much for some… or for others, the temptation of whatever percieved evil there might be is too close for them to feel comfortable. Ubiquitous cell phones (nee computers) are certainly going to make people look at this more seriously now.
