ArsTechnica has an interesting article about how Internet addiction is starting to show up in schools.
I can see how the ability to connect with others, and continually satiate curiosity on any number of topics can be addictive. So it’s something to maybe think about as we move toward ubiquitous computing. People are addicted to txt and Blackberry already, so this research is just adding to that body of work.
A solution – every day take some time to unplug – or at least unplug for a long time every week – email only Saturdays or something of the like.
