With the rain last night and the Robins running/flying around everywhere, this seemed to be a fitting picture. I like how I managed to get a nicely soft foreground and background with just the bird in the DOF. Ideally if I could have noticed it somehow during composition, I would have composed it so that the branch that is going across the beak wasn’t there (did you notice that?). I might have a shot like that, but it might not have had the bird looking the right way. The trick for composing that shot would be to make sure that there was no breeze – and on the morning I was shooting, there was just enough breeze to make the leaves rustle and with other birds landing on branches, they move all the time.

You can buy prints if you like at patientmanproductions.ca. The metallic prints work really well.
