Ok, so it looks like I caught a May snowflake – and I did… bit not really as one might think. These flakes were caught up on a spider’s web and I got to capture them there. Even though they were captive it wasn’t as easy as one would think. Every slight breeze caused them to move, getting closer might have increased the movement on the breeze and because of the lack of contrast it was hard for the AF to get a lock – so I wound up shooting this manually.
One of the things that I eventually want to shoot is a true falling snowflake. To do that I’ll certainly need additional light, a small aperture and a zoom. Maybe I’ll get the chance this winter… but one never knows… we may get snow in June.
