Query on the spot with Kwiry

I’ve been playing with GPS services and location based microblogging – using SpotJot – for almost a month now, and so when I came across Kwiry, it almost answered a question that I almost had formed in my head – How do I get more than my GOOGLE text info on the spot…can I combine it with a location marker? Will this be enough to get be to remember enough to do some followup research on it? The only thing that kwiry doesn’t do is include your location data

Using this service, you can txt in keywords that will have results waiting for you when you log into the system or over email – if you are in the US. For international users with Twitter accounts, you can d kwiry and have your results waiting the same way, but without a reply.

This is certainly a great service for those with regular phones with only txt, but the utility seems to be lost for smartphones. With that observation, I don’t know how often I’ll use it, but seeing that I’ve started using GOOGLE txt replies at least twice a week now, this might end up being used as well – but we’ll have to see. I txt GOOGLE because the replies are fast and accurate, so I don’t have to bother with the web browser and sorting through results that way.

Thanks for the thorough and thoughtful review Raj! We’re definitely looking to add things like location to future iterations of kwiry, particularly related to clients for devices like the iPhone. As for Smartphone utility in general, please note that you can email in kwirys, send mms/email photos to kwiry and also view all of your kwirys and results at m.kwiry.com (or http://www.kwiry.com on an iPhone). As I said, we’re definitely looking at clients for specific smartphones, but we also agree with you that SMS (or email) is a quick and convenient way to send in notes of things you want to check out later. kwiry then aims to continue to get more intelligent in the way we process your kwirys, including adding more shorcuts (like the Netflix and Amazon shortcuts we recently launched). Please let us know if you have any further questions/ideas/feedback! feedback AT kwiry DOT com
