Holidays, to say nothing of Disney Resort or even mentioning Paris, are all about food. And this holiday, despite a very rocky start, turned out to be very therapeutic as we wined and dined in fictional and factual lands in Europe.
I took about 3000 photos, but like my last trip to Anaheim, it was usually cloudy, so taking pictures was rather a challenge in terms of lighting and contrast.
I’ll also take this opportunity to give my super short review of Disneyland Resort Paris:
Overall (from a North American viewpoint): If you have been to the American parks and have the chance to come here, certainly make the trip to see what is different and enjoy the place (don’t mind the people). If you are a Disney nut, then be sure to come here. If you have only one opportunity to ever see a Disney park and you can’t make it to Orlando, this is still a great place to visit. There are all manner of amazing details and the food is first rate. The prices are high, but this is Disney*Europe… what are you expecting. If one could compare Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, it would be a tough call, I would not want to choose as both are unique in their own ways and taking the people out of the picture, both are amazing.
Suggestions (Steve Jobs, are you listening… ? Apparently the Great Steve was there at the same time and being the majority owner of Disney, he can make changes just as he already has with the dropping of D2D sequels) – BAN SMOKING IN THE PARKS. Not only are the smokers rude with their smoking – though being from North America where smoking is increasingly taboo, I realize that the social taboos are not all shared, but I can’t imagine anyone enjoying second hand smoke being blown at them or their children. Smokers not only litter the parks with their buts, but this also leads to more garbage and a general lack of respect for the parks. If there were more garbages that might also help, they seemed to be conspicuously absent in this park as it seems that you can’t turn around in the American parks without seeing one – or having one walk by. These two small changes may go a long way to helping people take ownership of the space and respect it far more, hopefully that will lead to people respecting each other, and the space itself. I can’t recall how many times I saw people of all ages in fenced off areas and throwing garbage just anywhere. If the place is clean and there are more staff to help people keep things clean, everything might just perk up. And … one last thing… Please bring Photo Pass to all of the parks! There is currently no photo pass system at DLRP.
