If rumor sites are to be believed – the inability to edit the calendar on the touch is a bug – afterall, the addressbook app has full functionality, why not the calendar?

I would tend to ignore the “Steve emailed me!” credentials, but it is likely that this was an oversight – perhaps intentional to protect the iPhone – so you never know.
