This is an interesting story from PhysOrg – plants like clover and strawberry can communicate with each other, warning about enemies (or better resources) when needed. Interestingly, there are also pathogens that take advantage of this in plant communication channel and infect it just as viri infect our computer networks… so maybe that desk potato that you have at home is literally getting back to his or her roots… oh that was a bad pun…
