Cyberbullying makes world news – finally

I heard about this both on the BBC and on CBC (morning news) that the problem has gotten severe enough (1 in 4 students admit to doing it!) that the British government has made plans to do something about it. I wonder if they are doing this only because it’s impacting teachers as much as it is other kids. This is not to downplay the effects that it has on any class, but it seems that if it’s only kids doing it to other kids, governments will be very slow to act, but when kids can harass teachers at will, then (perhaps because of the power differential) it becomes a problem.

The OPP has some good information about dealing with the issue and there are now also PSA contests as well.
