One of the painful memories that I have being a geek in grade school was in Jr. High Science when Mr. Smith asked about the origins of life, the planet and the like (having already established that everything exists in that level of science is matter) and I answered solar dust when talking about how the Earth was created. To say the least, the class had a good laugh at my expense. But I feel that I’m having the last laugh as there are ever more discoveries as to what is taking a ride on the dust that is “out there”. The latest saying that in plasma, inorganic molecules can self organize and act like organic molecules that we associate with life. Maybe this means that those great big Star Trek monsters can really exist.
