Waterfalls are almost always amazing features to take pictures of and around. Even more so when you have to do a little work to get to them. The hike to Troll Falls wasn’t that much, but the falls are nicely hidden. When I was taking this shot, I wanted to try to get the lace curtain effect (realizing that a polarizer would have really helped to prevent blowing out highlights) as well as a frozen water effect. I was able to get both here. If I wanted to get a perfect exposure, I could have taken a shots exposed to the water in the light and the shade and the same with the rock and composited them for the perfect shot. Having said that, it would have really put a damper on just experiencing the location.
