Well, kicking out a new PB of 45:15 was pretty sweet, but getting the whole family (less one who had First Aid training today) was a real win. The weather was giving us every out under the sun (and since it was snowing and raining, there was no sun) so that we all went out and made it was a plus. I can cross another resolution off – to go? Half Marathon in August and two more photo gigs for friends I have yet to meet.

Oh, and for the record, as we were coming home, the sun finally came out and the snow/rain mix stopped… gotta love Alberta weather. Official results are 86 (Overall) 2650 (Bib) 48:16 (Gun) 47:58 (Chip) 4:48/km (Pace) vs my Nike time of 45:15 (slowgeek)

Well, all of Aishani’s parties are done -first birthday wise. It’s really been interesting to see “who” was there a year ago and who was able to make it out this time. Not to say anything bad about the people who were busy, because they would have come if they could have – but the quotes being there to suggest that we’ve all changed so much over the past year. It really does feel like it was yesterday. I remember not knowing what the time was, I remember making sure the girls were asleep before passing out on my hospital bench waiting for Aishani to wake up so I could pass her to Neelam. Today, she can walk on her own and she would like it very much if she could feed herself thank you very much. Of course she’s not free of us just yet, but this little girl we’ve been blessed with is certainly helping me see change and appreciate things that I never thought would have ever really been there to consider.

Well I took the girls to TCI and had a great time. You can see the full gallery here and read my Trip Advisor review here. It was quite something to say the least and it is a place that now rivals Disney in my heart. If I want a “do something” vacation, I’ll hit the Parks, if I want to do nothing, I’ll hit TCI. Finally, as the Flame has passed Edmonton now, I don’t think I’ve got a chance this time around to run it… maybe the next Olympics that come by… I should be 50 something by then.

Well, the traveling part of September is over, and now the only interesting thing is the Turkey Trot (I’ll be doing the 8k route tomorrow). It will be Aishani’s first fun run… well, she’ll be wheeled.

Victoria certainly was an adventure. First trip with all the kids, first flights, first time to the Inner Harbour (I think). Travel is always worth it, and when I can score a few good shots from the process, why not. My Victoria album is online now.

September in the Mountains

This September is going to see us in the mountains quite a bit. First to Victoria, which really doesn’t have that many mountains in the area, but BC is still all about mountains. Following that, within a few days, we are off to Jasper. Hopefully between the two trips on either side of the Rockies I can pull out some good shots. Topping it all, I might still have a chance to go with Sci100 on the field trip to Jasper like I did last year.

As we finally get things together with being parents, both Neelam and I are slowly getting our little hobbies going. Neelam’s letters and cards are going well and my photography seems to get getting some attention and hopefully that turns into some bookings. Neelam has her site up and running but there seems to be more action at fb.diyacreations.ca. My gallery is linked above, but I’ve also created a Facebook page – fb.patientmanproductions.com.
