Blackberry Bold Pricing… at least overseas

Well, it seems that either RIM is playing dumb or Rogers is doing the same thing that it did with the iPhone in not releasing any information about the other big ubergadget to be realesed this summer. I even tried to chat and call Rogers to get more information and was told by the bot/agent that there was no information available. But a little digging online reveals that the BBB might be a better value than the iPhone. It will have copy/paste, iTunes syncing and video recording to list but a few “left offs” from the iPhone even in v2.0.

If Germany is going to be having the device go for as low as $140… and adjusting for market conditions and other BS (comparing apples to pizzas), Rogers should be able to let the BBB go for about the same as the iPhone (at the most $299). Time will tell, but my guess is that they are waiting for the 11th to pass before they start talking about the next roll out, knowing that the 3G rate plan – 6GB for $30 – is also for the BBB. IF this is the case though, it will really do a number on the other BB handsets in terms of prices… but isn’t that the point of any disruptive device?
