I’ve taken thousands of flower shots and a good portion, several hundred at least, have been of Orchids. But I don’t think I’ve ever taken this “top down” style of shot to really explore the symmetry of the commonly available bouquet cultivator.
When I was composing this one, I had some that were very clean, but they didn’t seem to work all that well, somehow the eye doesn’t move around as well. So I decided to go with a more “natural” shot. So you can get bonus points if you can find the mistake in this shot – ala the Japanese style of painting/printing that has one intentional mistake.
This is the also the only flower shot that didn’t get comments and kudos on Flickr from my last upload set.
